The newly expanded aquatic centre at the Sixteen Mile Sports Complex officially opened to the public on July 20, 2026. This milestone follows the spring rollout of its 65,000-square-foot community centre expansion, which debuted a new gym, fitness facilities, and the permanent Sixteen Mile Branch Library.
Zulfi Malik today outlined his vision for safer streets in Ward 7, including traffic calming measures on key residential corridors, improved crosswalk infrastructure, and better lighting in parks and pathways.
Zulfi Malik invites all Ward 7 residents to meet with him at a location of their choosing — a neighbourhood coffee shop, community centre, or his residence — for a conversation about the issues that matter most to you and your family.
As development pressure grows across Oakville, Zulfi Malik is committed to protecting the parks, ravines, and natural areas that make Ward 7 a great place to live. He will advocate for stronger tree canopy protections and meaningful community consultation on all development applications.
Zulfi Malik joined dozens of Ward 7 neighbours at the annual community food drive, helping collect and sort donations for local families in need. "Community is about showing up for each other," he said.
